Chapter 14

Grant’s legal matters concluded almost three years after the neighborhood assault.

The prosecutors narrowed the case carefully.

The Bennett Forge acquisition itself had not closed.

No lender had been defrauded into issuing new money because of the Sunday incident.

Not every accounting dispute was criminal.

Those limits mattered.

Grant ultimately faced convictions and negotiated resolutions tied to proven financial misconduct, undisclosed related-party dealings, obstruction-related conduct, and his role in orchestrating the confrontation involving Noah and Claire.

The sentence included a substantial custodial term followed by supervised release, restitution and civil repayment obligations, and permanent disqualification from serving as trustee, fiduciary, or officer of Bennett family entities.

He retained lawful personal assets after satisfying judgments.

He did not become penniless.

He lost the thing he had been trying hardest to preserve.

Control.

Logan completed his custodial sentence earlier.

He left competitive fighting.

Not because the court ordered him to stop training forever.

Because every interview about his career became attached to footage of him hitting Noah.

He eventually took a job managing operations at a small independent fitness center with no Bennett ownership.

He stayed in therapy.

Paid restitution connected to Noah’s treatment costs.

Did not contact the child directly.

Claire completed no criminal program because prosecutors found her restraint reasonable in defense of Noah and herself.

Still, she voluntarily attended several sessions with a use-of-force psychologist who worked with veterans and law enforcement.

Daniel Ross asked why.

“You didn’t lose control.”

Claire answered:

“That doesn’t mean I never could.”

She wanted the distinction.

Bennett Response Group hired an independent CEO.

Ashby Fiduciary retained voting control over the Descendant Trust.

Claire remained a board adviser for one term, then stepped away from formal governance completely.

She started teaching crisis-leadership seminars at a university instead.

No inherited authority.

No one needed to salute.
