Chapter 9 - the family restored

By 4:00 AM, the storm had passed, leaving the morning sky painted in brilliant shades of pink, gold, and soft blue over Lake Michigan.
Inside the warm, sunlit drawing room of the Rosselli estate, a crackling fire warmed the grand hearth.
Elena sat on a velvet sofa, dressed in a cozy cashmere sweater, holding a warm cup of herbal tea. Alina sat right beside her, weeping tears of pure happiness as she held her mother tightly, refusing to let go of her hand.
"I thought I lost you forever, Mom," Alina whispered, resting her head against Elena's shoulder.
Elena kissed her daughter's forehead gently. "I took that silver necklace from my old memory box eight months ago because I knew Victor Falcone was hunting me down. I gave it to you so that if anything ever happened to me... Dante would find you."
Across the room, Dante stood near the grand windows, holding little Leo in his arms. The nine-month-old infant was clapping his small hands happily, giggling as he looked at his aunt and cousin.
Vincent stepped into the drawing room, holding a leather briefcase. "Boss, the council elders have finalized the legal documents. Sofia Rosselli has been stripped of all administrative authority and transferred to our secure facility in Vermont. All fifty percent of the international shipping trusts have been officially restored to Elena and Alina."
Elena looked up at Dante, her eyes filled with profound gratitude. "I don't care about the trusts, Dante. I only ever wanted my family to be safe."

Dante walked over, sitting on the leather ottoman across from them, setting baby Leo onto Alina's lap. Leo immediately reached out his chubby fingers, grabbing the silver dragon necklace hanging around Alina's neck and letting out a happy squeal.
Dante smiled, his dark eyes shining with rare peace. "The Rosselli family is whole again. No one will ever threaten us in this house."
