Chapter 13 - the final move

Victor arrived at JFK International Airport’s private hangar twenty minutes before noon.

Flanked by Marco, Victor walked into the executive terminal, his heavy black coat open, his broad presence commanding the room.

Sitting near the window holding a leather travel bag was his sister, Sofia.

Sofia looked up, freezing in shock as Victor approached her. She didn't try to run. She simply set her bag down and lowered her head, fresh tears filling her eyes.

"Victor..." Sofia whispered. "How did you find me?"

Victor sat down in the leather chair across from her. "You were never trying to betray me, were you, Sofia?"

Sofia shook her head, wiping her eyes. "Elena called me five years ago from Paris, Victor. She was terrified! Vincent Moretti found out where she was hiding with your son. She made me swear on my life not to tell you until Celeste and Adrian were completely destroyed!"

"Why didn't she tell me herself?" Victor asked, his voice filled with raw emotion.

"Because Vincent had snipers on your estate for five years!" Sofia confessed, reaching into her bag and pulling out a silver key. "Elena knew that if you came to Europe before crushing the rival families in New York, Vincent would execute the boy!"

Sofia placed the silver key into Victor’s palm.

"This is the key to Elena’s private apartment in Paris," Sofia said softly. "The Season 1 war in New York is over, Victor. Your empire is safe. Maya is safe. Now go bring your family home."

Victor gripped the silver key tight in his hand.

He stood up, turning to Marco. "Prepare my private jet. We leave for Paris immediately."
