Chapter 10 - The Sovereign of Christmas Dawn

By six o'clock on Christmas morning, the brutal blizzard over Manhattan had finally stopped, leaving behind a pristine, sunlit blanket of white snow over the city.

The traitors had been purged, Lord Sterling's corporate invasion dismantled, and the Ravelli empire unified under Dominic's undisputed rule.

Inside the grand sunlit study of the Ravelli estate, peace and warmth had returned.

A roaring fire crackled softly in the fireplace, casting a warm amber glow across the dark mahogany bookshelves, the leather armchairs, and the polished desk.

Dominic sat in his large leather chair behind the desk. He wore a fresh black tuxedo shirt with his sleeves rolled up, revealing his broad, muscular forearms and luxury wristwatch. His dark blue-gray eyes were clear, steady, and filled with quiet triumph.

Sitting across from him in a plush velvet armchair was eighty-year-old Agatha. She wore a clean burgundy blouse, her silver hair styled neatly, her fair rosy cheeks glowing in the firelight as she sipped warm chamomile tea.

Standing near the window, looking out at the snow-covered pine trees, was Vivienne. She had discarded her emerald evening gown, wearing a simple, elegant dark wool coat. Her posture was quiet, her arrogant malice completely gone, replaced by a deep, reflective solemnity.

Dominic picked up a leather-bound folder from his desk, setting it flat before Vivienne.

"These are the release documents for the Zurich escrow account, Vivienne," Dominic said softly, his deep voice carrying profound warmth. "Forty million dollars. It's yours. It was always yours."

Vivienne looked down at the documents, tears brimming in her eyes. She looked at her brother—the twin she had spent fifteen years trying to destroy—and saw no hatred in his eyes, only protection.

"I'm sorry, Dominic..." Vivienne whispered, her voice cracking with raw emotion. "I spent my whole life thinking you took everything from me."

"You were lied to by Sterling, Vivienne," Dominic said gently. "Now you know the truth. You are a Ravelli. And this house is open to you whenever you choose to return as family."

Vivienne nodded slowly, wiping a tear from her cheek, and signed the documents before stepping out into the quiet hallway to prepare for her journey back to Chicago.

Agatha looked at her son, her dark eyes shining with immense pride and love. "You saved this house, Dominic. Just as your father knew you would."

Dominic walked over to his mother, dropping to one knee beside her armchair. He took her frail, elegant hand into his broad palm, pressing a soft kiss against her fingers.

"We saved it together, Mother," Dominic whispered softly.

Suddenly, Frank stepped into the study, holding a high-tech satellite phone that was chiming with a sharp, encrypted ringtone from London.

Frank bowed his head respectfully. "Boss... an encrypted satellite transmission just arrived from the international syndicate high council in London."

Dominic stood up smoothly, taking the phone and pressing the receiver to his ear.

A smooth, heavily accented European voice spoke through the speaker:

"Don Ravelli... congratulations on securing New York and resolving the bloodline covenant. But the London council has just received news that your late father's secondary vault in Geneva contains a third document... and the European directors are demanding an immediate summit regarding the Atlantic shipping routes."

Dominic’s dark blue-gray eyes narrowed into razor-sharp focus. He didn't flinch. He didn't show fear. He slowly looked over at his mother, his broad posture returning to that of an invincible, unyielding warlord ready to guard his family into eternity.

"Tell London," Dominic said quietly, his voice sharp as steel, "that if they want to speak to the Ravelli family... they can come to New York."

He disconnected the call, set the phone down, and stood beside his mother as the golden morning sun bathed the grand study in warmth, safety, and triumphant light.
