Chapter 8 - the truth behind the shadow

By 1:00 AM, the battle inside the Caruso estate was over.

The rogue mercenaries were disarmed and pinned to the marble floor by loyal Moretti enforcers, while federal tactical units—alerted by Dominic's legal team—surrounded the outer driveway.

Inside the quiet master study, Dante was pinned against the floorboards by Marcus's heavy boot, his dark pinstriped suit ruined, blood dripping from his jaw.

Dominic walked into the room, stepping up to the fallen traitor, looking down at him with cold, absolute judgment.

"You sabotaged my brother's car ten months ago, didn't you, Dante?" Dominic asked, his voice a low, terrifying growl.

Dante wept bitterly against the floor, his arrogant facade completely gone. "Julian found out I was siphoning funds into Swiss accounts! He was going to expose me to the council! I had no choice!"

"You had every choice," Dominic said, each word heavy as lead. "And today, you pay the debt."

Dominic motioned to the federal agents standing at the study door. "Take him away. Ensure he spends the rest of his life in a federal maximum-security cell."

The agents clicked heavy steel handcuffs around Dante's wrists, dragging the weeping traitor out into the rain forever.

Dominic turned around, looking at Hannah standing near the window, holding baby Grace securely in her arms.

The dark shadow that had hung over the family for ten long months was finally gone. Julian's death was avenged, Grace's future was secured, and peace had returned to the Caruso empire.
