Chapter 8 - The Hidden Audit
Luca summoned Marcus, his head of security, with a brief gesture.
"Take Mr. Pierce to his office," Luca ordered coldly. "Seize his keys, his phone, and every financial ledger he has touched in the last six months. He does not leave the grounds until my legal team reviews every expense report."
Harland’s eyes widened in sheer panic. "Mr. Moretti! Please! I’ve served this family for eight years!"
"And you spent those eight years forgetting who actually owns this house," Luca replied coldly as Marcus gripped Harland by the shoulder and dragged him away down the corridor.
Luca turned to Emily, who was barely standing. Before she could apologize or faint, Luca handed Nora to a trusted senior housekeeper and walked over to Emily.
Without asking, he scooped Emily up into his arms, carrying her down the grand hallway toward the primary guest wing.

"Mr. Moretti, please... I can work," Emily protested faintly, her head resting weakly against his shoulder.
"You're not working another minute, Emily," Luca said firmly. "My personal doctor will be here in ten minutes."
