Chapter 11

Seraphina was arrested in stages.

First for assaulting Beatrice.

Then for obstruction, witness intimidation, attempted financial exploitation, fraud-related conduct involving the trust transaction, and false statements tied to the cognitive-decline petition.

Her lawyers attacked everyone.

Victor was a Mafia boss.

True.

Beatrice had lied about Enzo for thirty-four years.

True.

Enzo had been a federal witness.

True.

None of that made Seraphina’s slap legal.

None of it made her financial documents honest.

None of it made her fake incapacity petition medically supported.

The wedding ceremony created legal complications, but it did not grant Seraphina automatic control over trust assets.

A family court and probate court froze any spousal claims tied to fraud allegations while the marriage status was litigated.

Eventually, the marriage was annulled under a negotiated civil resolution based on concealment and fraud surrounding the asset plan.

Not because Victor regretted the wedding.

Regret was not enough.

The evidence was.

Beatrice entered her own agreement with federal authorities regarding the old false identification and related concealment.

Given her age, cooperation, and the age of the conduct, she received no prison time.

But the record was corrected.

Enzo Bellacosta had not died in the closed casket buried under his name.

That mattered.

Lies carved into stone still remain lies.
