Chapter 7 - the trip to geneva

By noon the following day, the Bellandi private jet soared high above the Atlantic Ocean, heading toward Switzerland.
Inside the luxurious leather-lined cabin, Rosie was fast asleep on a velvet sofa, wrapped in a soft pink blanket, holding a teddy bear Victor had bought her at the airport.
Victor sat across from Clara, sharing a pot of fresh coffee. He watched her gently as she gazed out the window at the white clouds below.
"You look peaceful, Clara," Victor said softly, his deep voice filled with genuine warmth.
"I am," Clara smiled, looking back at him. "For seven years, I felt like a piece of my heart was missing. I thought I was broken forever. But having Rosie in my arms... knowing she's alive and safe... it feels like a miracle."
Victor reached across the small table, covering her hand with his large, warm palm. "You are stronger than you give yourself credit for, Clara. You survived seven years of hardship without losing your gentle soul."
Clara blushed softly, her rosy cheeks catching the bright sunlight streaming through the plane window. "Thank you for believing in me, Victor. Most men in your position would have dismissed a maid's word against a high-society fiancée."
"I knew the moment I saw you holding Rosie in the ballroom," Victor confessed, his dark eyes locking onto hers with deep, intense devotion. "I saw the way she looked at you. Blood calls to blood, Clara. But more than that... love calls to love."
Four hours later, the private jet landed at Geneva Airport. A motorcade of two black armored sedans escorted Victor, Clara, and Rosie to the grand stone pillars of the Bank of Switzerland.
Inside the subterranean private vault, twenty stories beneath the city streets, a senior Swiss banker inserted the brass key into Vault 884.

The heavy steel door clicked open with a deep, echoing resonance.
Victor pulled out a thick, leather-bound binder containing Arthur Bennett’s original financial ledgers. Wrapped around the binder was an unsealed envelope marked: FOR MY DAUGHTER CLARA.
