Chapter 6 - The Guarded Daughter

Damiano walked up the stone stairs to the private living quarters on the third floor. He knew that whoever had partnered with Vivian would soon realize that a six-year-old child had destroyed their multi-million-dollar coup.

Damiano stopped in front of them, his harsh features softening slightly as he looked at the terrified mother and her brave child.
"You're not leaving, Sophia," Damiano said softly. "You and Emma are moving into the master guest suite tonight. You will have full protection, four personal guards, and access to whatever you need."
Sophia blinked, stunned. "Sir, I'm just a housemaid—"

"Your daughter saved my life today," Damiano interrupted, his voice firm and absolute. "And in my world, loyalty and debts of honor are paid in full. As long as you are under my roof, no one will ever lay a finger on either of you."
Emma looked up from her doll, offering Damiano a tiny, shy smile. For the first time in years, the cold mob boss felt a flicker of genuine warmth in his chest.
