Chapter 7 - The Bloodline Ledger

Three days passed in a tense, watchful quiet. Sophia and Emma settled into the luxurious guest suite on the top floor, surrounded by high security. Damiano visited every evening, bringing fresh fruit for Sophia and small toys for Emma, slowly building an unexpected bond with the quiet maid and her daughter.
On Friday evening, Marco walked into Damiano’s private study, holding a thick leather folder filled with decrypted digital records recovered from Vivian’s private server.
"Boss," Marco said, his face unusually grim. "We cracked the secondary files on Vivian's encrypted drive. We found something you need to see."
Damiano took the folder and opened it. Inside were dozens of high-resolution surveillance photographs—not of Damiano, and not of rival bosses.
They were photographs of Sophia Bennett and little Emma.
The photos tracked Sophia from four years ago—showing her leaving a small clinic in Brooklyn, moving into a modest apartment, and eventually applying for a housekeeping job at the Moretti estate.
Damiano’s jaw tightened. "Why was Vivian tracking a housemaid for four years?"

Damiano flipped the page. At the bottom of Emma’s birth certificate, in the space reserved for the father's name, was a signature that made Damiano’s blood run cold.
