Chapter 8

Rocco made six irreversible decisions within forty-eight hours.

First, he petitioned the probate court to appoint the independent corporate trustee immediately, before the birth.

Not after.

Before.

His attorney objected.

“The will triggers at birth.”

“Then I’m consenting early.”

“You lose control early.”

“That’s the point.”

Second, he resigned from all management roles in the legitimate Bellandi entities pending audit.

Restaurants.

Development companies.

Investment partnerships.

The family foundation.

Everything tied to the trust.

Third, he placed Adeline under a court-approved protection plan with security not employed by the Bellandi family.

His own men were not allowed to guard her hospital room.

Fourth, he gave Detective Ellison full access to mansion security footage, guest lists, staircase maintenance records, and internal communications about the dinner.

Fifth, he accepted misdemeanor diversion for slapping Seraphine.

Anger-management counseling.

No contact with her.

Community service through a charity with no Bellandi donation history.

If completed, the charge could be dismissed.

His old friends called it humiliating.

Rocco answered:

“Good.”

Finally, he instructed every Bellandi associate:

No threats.

No visits.

No messages.

No pressure on witnesses, doctors, bankers, lawyers, or family-office staff.

Anyone violating that order would lose all legitimate work and all family support.

One captain said:

“You’re letting courts run your house.”

Rocco said:

“My house almost killed my wife.”

That ended the argument.

May you like

It also ended the old Bellandi system.

Once independent trustees entered, they did not politely ignore old dirt because a man in a tuxedo asked them to.
