Chapter 7 - The Unbroken Bloodline

The rain poured down on the scorched gardens as Adrian stared at the legal parchment in his hand.

Marcus stepped closer, holding a high-powered flashlight over the document. "Boss... what is that?"

"Rosa isn't just a maid, Marcus," Adrian whispered, his voice thick with shock. "She is my uncle Julian’s daughter."

Twenty-five years ago, Adrian’s uncle, Julian Blackwell, had been the co-head of the family empire before he tragically vanished in an offshore boating incident. For two decades, the family had believed Julian left no heirs. But this document proved that Julian had a daughter—Rosa—whom Don Vito Blackwell had secretly protected and placed in the estate under a false background to keep her safe from rival syndicates.

Caleb hadn't just stolen maid salaries out of greed. He had deliberately kept Rosa impoverished, overworked, and ignorant of her true heritage so she would never claim her lawful thirty percent controlling stake in the Blackwell corporation.

"Get the car," Adrian ordered Marcus, his eyes burning with absolute resolve. "We're going to the piers."

Ten minutes later, inside the secure panic room beneath the main mansion, the heavy steel door slid open.

Rosa stood up from the sofa, pulling Emily close as Adrian walked into the room. He had changed into a fresh black shirt and jacket, though his hands bore minor bandage wraps from the fire.

Rosa looked at him nervously. "Mr. Blackwell... is it over? Did they put out the fire?"

Adrian walked up to Rosa, looking down at her gentle, pale face with a profound new perspective. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the yellowed lineage document, setting it gently in her hands.

"Read this, Rosa," Adrian said softly.

Rosa looked confused, her fingers tracing the heavy parchment. She scanned the official legal text, her dark eyes widening with every line she read.

"Julian Blackwell... father...?" Rosa whispered, her voice trembling violently. "My mother always told me my father died at sea... she said his family was dangerous and that I should never ask questions..."

"Your father was my uncle, Rosa," Adrian said, his tone filled with deep respect. "You are a Blackwell. You hold thirty percent of this entire empire."

Rosa dropped the paper, her hands flying to her mouth as tears spilled down her cheeks. "I... I don't understand... I've been cleaning floors in this house for five years..."

"Because my brother Caleb hid your identity," Adrian explained, his voice turning to ice. "He stole your inheritance, he stole your wages, and he tried to destroy this family. But that ends tonight."

Adrian knelt down in front of eight-year-old Emily, taking her tiny hands into his.

"Emily," Adrian said gently. "You saved your mother's life today. And you saved mine. I am going to make sure nobody ever threatens you again."

Emily looked into his gray-blue eyes and gave a firm, brave nod. "Go get the bad man, Mr. Blackwell."

Adrian smiled faintly, stood up, and turned to Marcus. "Let's finish this."
