Chapter 8 - The Siege of the Estate

The midnight storm over New York had reached its peak as three heavy black SUVs tore down the highway toward Commercial Pier 14—the primary shipping terminal owned by the Moretti family.
Inside the lead vehicle, Adrian sat in the back seat, loading a fresh magazine into his sidearm. Marcus sat beside him, reviewing the tactical layout of the pier on an encrypted tablet.
"Falcone and Vance have twenty armed men securing the main warehouse, Boss," Marcus reported. "Caleb arrived five minutes ago. They are preparing to load four cargo containers with stolen Blackwell bearer bonds and flee via speedboat."
"They won't reach the water," Adrian said coldly.
When the three SUVs screeched to a halt outside Pier 14, they didn't wait for negotiations.
The lead vehicle smashed directly through the corrugated metal security gates of the warehouse, bringing down the iron fencing in a shower of sparks and twisted metal.
Blackwell security guards poured out of the vehicles, taking defensive positions behind concrete barriers as heavy gunfire erupted through the cavernous warehouse.
Adrian stepped out of his vehicle, moving through the crossfire with terrifying, calm authority. He fired precise, controlled bursts, taking down two Moretti enforcers who tried to block the central walkway.
Down at the far end of the pier, beside a massive cargo crane, stood Caleb Blackwell and Victor Vance. They were frantically dragging two heavy steel travel cases toward an idling black speedboat docked at the pier's edge.
"Caleb!" Adrian’s voice boomed across the roaring engines and gunfire like a judgment from above.
Caleb spun around, his eyes wide with disbelief as he saw his older brother advancing through the smoke, unyielding, powerful, and unstoppable.
Victor Vance drew his weapon, aiming directly at Adrian, but Marcus fired a high-caliber round from the upper gantry, hitting Vance in the shoulder and dropping the rival enforcer onto the wet wooden planks.
Caleb panicked. He grabbed one of the steel cases and sprinted toward the edge of the dock, preparing to leap onto the speedboat.
Adrian closed the distance in three long strides, grabbing Caleb by his navy suit collar and slamming him violently against the iron frame of the cargo crane.
The pistol flew from Caleb's hand, clattering into the dark river below.
Caleb gasped for air, his hands gripping Adrian’s coat as he stared into the terrifying, icy storm of his brother's gray-blue eyes.
"Adrian... please!" Caleb choked out, his arrogance entirely gone, replaced by pathetic, weeping terror. "We're brothers! Blood doesn't spill blood! Father would have wanted us to work this out!"

"You didn't think about blood when you put poison in Father's tea," Adrian growled, his voice vibrating with absolute fury. "You didn't think about blood when you starved a thirty-two-year-old mother and her child."
Adrian raised his fist, but before he delivered the final strike, the sharp wail of federal law enforcement sirens echoed from the street outside, accompanied by bright red and blue strobe lights flashing against the warehouse walls.
