Chapter 9 - My father’s study

Dad stored paper.
An absurd amount.
He did not trust fully digital archives.
His study contained:
Old board books.
Original shareholder agreements.
Deal binders.
Tax files.
Signed correspondence.
My brothers had digitized most of it after he died.
But nobody had finished the last cabinets.
I went inside looking for an older ownership schedule related to Prescott Power.
Instead, I found a blue binder.
Label:
PPS — Strategic Alternatives / Restricted
Inside was an agreement I had never seen.
Dated three years before Dad died.
It concerned future transactions involving Prescott Power.
And on the final pages was a handwritten side letter signed by Dad and acknowledged by all four original trustees.
I read it once.
Then again.
Then I photographed it.

That was the picture I sent my brothers.
Ryan walked into the study twelve minutes later.
