Chapter 14 - season 1 reveal

Dominic didn't hesitate. He returned fire with deadly precision, forcing Moretti’s shooters to retreat along the high steel catwalk.

"Mateo! Flank the upper level!" Dominic shouted over the deafening roar of gunfire.

Dominic charged up the iron spiral staircase, clearing the steps three at a time. He reached the upper gantry just as Moretti stumbled, hit in the shoulder by Mateo's return fire.

Moretti fell back against the steel railing, clutching his bleeding arm, his gun skittering across the metal floor.

Dominic stepped out of the smoke, his weapon aimed squarely at Moretti’s face.

"It's over, Moretti," Dominic said coldly. "The twenty-four hours are up."

Moretti spat blood onto the steel floor, laughing maniacally despite his injury. "You think you won, Bellaro? You think killing me saves your family?"

"You blackmailed my wife, poisoned my daughter, and tried to steal my empire," Dominic said, his finger tightening on the trigger. "Where is Sophia?"

"Sophia is already in federal custody," Moretti sneered. "I turned over her wire transfer records an hour ago. She’s going to prison for life. But she wasn't the mastermind, Dominic! She was just the greedy idiot who took my money!"

Dominic took a step closer, pressing the cold barrel of his gun against Moretti's forehead. "Who gave you my father's signet ring?"

Moretti’s laughter faded, replaced by a dark, knowing smirk. "Ask the woman who's been standing in your house every single night... the woman who traded her own daughter to keep herself alive."

Before Dominic could press further, Mateo ran up the catwalk, holding his phone. "Don Dominic! The police are raiding the docks! We have to move now!"

Dominic pulled the trigger. Moretti slumped lifeless against the railing.

The immediate threat to Maisie, the conspiracy that drove Vivienne’s cruelty, and Moretti’s hostile takeover of the Bellaro syndicate were completely destroyed. Justice was served, and the Season 1 war for the Bellaro estate was won.

Twenty minutes later, Dominic returned to the mansion under heavy rain. The house was finally quiet. Vivienne was gone, Sophia was in handcuffs, and Moretti was dead.

Dominic walked upstairs to Maisie's bedroom. He sat on the edge of her bed and pulled her into a warm embrace, holding his daughter tightly against his chest.

"You're safe now, Maisie," Dominic whispered softly, resting his chin on her head. "No one will ever harm you again. I promise."

Maisie looked up at him with clear, innocent eyes. She reached under her pillow and pulled out a small, tarnished silver music box.

"Daddy," Maisie said quietly. "While you were gone, Aunt Sophia left this in my room. She said it belonged to Mommy."
