Chapter 11

Family court moved before the corporate cases finished.
Clara received temporary primary custody.
Dominic received supervised visitation.
Not because the court believed he would physically attack Leo.
There was no evidence of that.
The concern was judgment.
He had knowingly participated in a plan that used Leo’s emotional distress to produce evidence for a custody filing.
He had failed to stop repeated humiliation.
He had restricted contact with Clara in the name of “regulation.”
Those were enough for caution.
Victoria received no contact.
Brooke received no contact.
Liam was not treated as part of the wrongdoing.
His father—Brooke’s former husband—was notified that Liam had been used in recordings connected to the Sterling dispute.
A separate family-court review limited Brooke from involving Liam in Sterling business or litigation matters.
No one called the boy manipulative.
He was five.
Adults had placed him in a role he did not understand.
Dr. Weller submitted a professional statement clarifying that he had never recommended differential treatment, withholding comfort, floor seating, or provocation.
The draft evaluation was withdrawn.
Leo continued with Hannah Reed instead.
His biggest fear was surprisingly simple.
“Will Daddy make me prove I’m good?”
Clara answered:
“No.”
She did not promise Dominic would never disappoint him again.
She promised:
“You do not have to perform for food, chairs, hugs, or love.”
The financial side moved too.
The independent fiduciary refused to support the Westbridge acquisition at $42 million.
Sterling Hospitality’s board commissioned a new valuation.
Victoria’s lender declared default after the Friday extension condition failed.
Negotiations began.
No sheriff appeared to drag furniture out.
No dynasty collapsed overnight.
Debt moved through contracts the way debt actually moved.
Victoria posted additional collateral.
Sold a vacation property.
And began marketing a portion of her Sterling shares.
The thing she feared most was happening.

Not poverty.
Loss of control.
