Chapter 10 - The Sovereign Horizon

Three weeks later, the morning sun broke over the snow-capped Alps, casting brilliant golden light across the clear, azure waters of Lake Geneva.
A majestic black private jet touched down smoothly on the runway of Geneva International Airport.
The door opened, and Jessi stepped out onto the mobile staircase. She wore an exquisite dark cream wool coat over a tailored suit, her dark brown hair styled in a chic low ponytail, her fair skin radiant in the crisp mountain air.
Walking beside her, wearing an elegant dark navy wool coat and sunglasses, was Patricia.
Standing on the tarmac beside two executive black limousines was a team of four private security officers dressed in dark suits.
At the head of the security team stood a tall, distinguished European man in his late fifties, holding a silver tray with two glasses of sparkling water.
"Welcome to Geneva, Ms. Sterling," the officer said with a respectful bow. "Baron Sterling is expecting you at the estate in Montreux."
Jessi took a glass of water, taking a slow, quiet sip as she looked out toward the breathtaking mountain horizon.
"Is the Baron prepared for our meeting?" Jessi asked smoothly.
"The Baron has assembled the entire European board, Ms. Sterling," the officer reported. "He believes he holds the master recall clause for your father's trust."
A radiant, formidable smile touched Jessi’s lips—a smile that held the strength of a woman who had broken a man's hand with her bare arms and dismantled an empire in forty-eight hours.
Jessi turned to Patricia, taking her arm gently as they stepped down to the waiting limousine.

"Tell my uncle," Jessi said quietly, her voice sharp as steel, "that if he wants to play games with Thomas Sterling's daughter... he had better bring a larger army."
She stepped into the luxury vehicle, the heavy door closing with a solid, satisfying click as the motorcade surged forward into the morning sun, ready for the next battle, completely sovereign and free.
