Chapter 11

Constance was removed from active trust authority by court order pending the full fiduciary case.

Not because Fabio demanded revenge.

The institutional trustee petitioned.

The evidence supported it.

Her related-party conflicts.

Undisclosed financing.

Veridian dependence.

The staged governance confrontation.

Her decision to obstruct medical care for a sick child while trying to produce a family incident.

Each piece mattered.

Constance’s lawyers argued Fabio’s slap still demonstrated dangerous behavior.

The court agreed it demonstrated behavior worth addressing.

That did not restore Constance’s authority.

Two wrong facts did not cancel each other.

Fabio’s own case proceeded separately.

The video was clear.

Constance reached toward Juliet.

Fabio intercepted her arm.

Then struck her.

Could he reasonably claim he was protecting Juliet?

Possibly.

Did the slap go beyond what was necessary to stop Constance’s hand?

Prosecutors believed so.

Fabio did not spend money trying to turn technical ambiguity into innocence.

He accepted a negotiated misdemeanor resolution.

Anger-management counseling.

Community service.

A fine.

No incarceration given his record and the circumstances.

One family lieutenant called the result humiliating.

Fabio stared at him.

“For who?”

“You.”

“I hit a sixty-seven-year-old woman in front of my daughter.”

“Mabel was halfway out the door.”

“Exactly.”

The man went quiet.

Fabio continued.

“My mother does not get to use my anger as a weapon.”

He paused.

“And I don’t get to use her cruelty as permission.”

That became the line separating old DeSantis power from what Fabio wanted next.

Mabel recovered fully.

Antibiotics finished.

Follow-up imaging was normal.

Within two weeks, she was racing through the house again and refusing vegetables with healthy intensity.

Juliet watched Fabio more carefully.

Not because she feared he would hit her.

Because she had seen how quickly the room obeyed him when he became angry.

They talked about it.

Juliet said:

“When you slapped her, every bodyguard moved toward her.”

Fabio frowned.

“I didn’t order that.”

“I know.”

“Then?”

“They thought your anger was an order.”

That disturbed him.

May you like

Good.

It should.
