Chapter 9 - the reunion in geneva

The private medical clinic in Saint Moritz overlooked the breathtaking, snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps. Crisp, clean mountain air blew through the open balcony doors of the top-floor suite.
Elise walked slowly into the room, her heart pounding against her ribs, her hands shaking gently. Dominic walked two paces behind her, offering silent, unshakeable support.
Sitting by the window, wrapped in a soft cashmere blanket, was Clara Ravello. Though her hair was touched with silver, her eyes were clear, bright blue, and filled with a profound, gentle warmth.
Clara turned her head as the door opened. Her eyes locked onto Elise, and a tear immediately spilled down her pale cheek.
"Elise..." Clara whispered, her voice frail but distinct. "My little girl..."
Elise dropped to her knees beside her mother's chair, wrapping her arms around Clara's shoulders, weeping tears of joy that had been buried for twenty-nine long years. "Mom... oh God, Mom..."
Clara held her daughter tight, kissing her hair, stroking her face with soft, trembling fingers. "I remembered your face every single day, sweetie... I knew Dominic would bring you home."
Dominic stepped up to the window, looking at his brother's wife with deep respect. "Welcome back, Clara."
Clara looked up at Dominic, offering a weak, grateful smile. "Thank you, Dominic. You kept your promise to Julian."
"Always," Dominic said softly.
Clara reached into her blanket and pulled out a small black leather notebook—the original master journal containing the encrypted access codes to the Ravello syndicate's international accounts in London and Rome.

"Marcella kept me asleep because she couldn't open these accounts without my voice print," Clara explained gently, handing the journal to Dominic. "Use it to secure your family's future, Dominic. Make sure no one ever hurts my daughter again."
Dominic took the heavy journal, holding it tightly in his palm, feeling the final piece of his family's long, dark tragedy finally resolve into light.
