Chapter 20 - My Diversion

I completed mine too.

Short program.

No conviction after completion.

My instructor asked:

“What did you want when you dumped the box?”

“To humiliate her.”

There.

Not protect Sawyer.

He was already in my arms.

“Did it work?”

“Yes.”

“Did it help your son?”

No.

He had seen his mother retaliate with force.

Again.

Sawyer later drew the room incident in therapy.

Imogen large.

Me large.

He and Mason small.

That drawing hurt more than any court document.

I asked his therapist:

“Was he scared of me?”

“Sometimes during the incident.”

There.

Not permanently.

Not:

Mom became abuser.

But my anger enlarged the scene.

I apologized directly.

“I should not have dumped Aunt Imogen’s clothes on her.”

Sawyer said:

“She said I mistake.”

“I know.”

“You mad.”

“Yes.”

“Can be mad.”

“Yes.”

“Can’t dump?”

“Correct.”

He thought.

“Can dump own clothes?”

I laughed.

“If you want.”

The next week he dumped his laundry basket on the floor deliberately.

“Legal.”

Children are unbearable.

May you like

Healing too.
