Chapter 11

The family court moved first.
Melisande’s emergency guardianship petition was never granted.
The forged consent collapsed under forensic review.
Theron remained Ione’s legal parent.
The guardian ad litem found no basis to remove her from him.
She did recommend conditions.
Theron continue counseling.
Reduce unpredictable overnight travel temporarily.
Maintain Ione’s therapy.
Notify a neutral backup caregiver when work emergencies arose.
No reliance on Melisande or Corinne.
Theron agreed.
Northfield canceled the reservation.
Most of the deposit was refunded to Melisande.
The school was not blamed.
It had been given false information and had refused final admission without court authority.
The judge specifically noted that.
Corinne’s property complaint against Theron continued separately.
Video showed he deliberately dumped her handbag box into mud.
The box edge struck her hip only after she lunged forward.
No assault charge based on bodily injury was pursued.
But property damage was real.
Several bags were ruined.
Theron paid their verified value.
He also entered a misdemeanor diversion program related to disorderly conduct.
Anger counseling.
Community service.
No conviction upon successful completion.
His uncle thought he was crazy to pay.
Theron answered:
“I ruined property that wasn’t mine.”
“After she sold your daughter’s bed.”
“Yes.”
“She deserved it.”
“No.”
His uncle stared.
Theron continued.
“She deserved consequences for what she did.”
He looked toward the reimbursement invoice.
“She didn’t give me permission to invent mine.”
Corinne’s exposure was worse.
Forgery.
Attempted custodial interference.
Unauthorized sale of trust property.
Participation in a conspiracy to create misleading evidence for family court.
And child-welfare concerns over emotionally manipulating Ione.
Prosecutors did not call every cruel sentence a felony.
They focused on provable conduct.
Corinne continued cooperating.
That would matter later.
Melisande’s case was broader.
She had organized the guardianship strategy.
Submitted false information to Northfield.
Participated in the forged consent.
Planned the staged confrontation.
Used caregiving reimbursements improperly.
And built the court petition around facts she was deliberately trying to create.

Her lawyer stopped calling it a family misunderstanding.
The evidence no longer allowed that.
