Chapter 10 - major reveal

Dominic moved across the slippery deck like a predator. He grabbed Julian’s submachine gun with his bare gloved hand, twisting the barrel upward as a burst of automatic fire tore harmlessly into the concrete ceiling above.
Dominic delivered a devastating left hook across Julian’s jaw, sending the traitorous Bellini heir crashing violently against the chrome railing of the boat.
Julian dropped his weapon, coughing blood onto his navy coat as Dominic towered over him, pressing the heavy barrel of his pistol squarely against Julian’s forehead.
"You tried to take my daughter," Dominic growled, his voice trembling with dark, lethal rage.
"Dominic... please!" Julian gasped, his hands trembling as he looked up into Dominic's deathly grey-blue eyes. "I... I can give you the European codes! I can give you the Chicago docks!"
"I already own Chicago," Dominic said coldly.
He struck Julian across the temple with the heavy butt of his sidearm, knocking him unconscious onto the deck.
Dominic turned around instantly. He dropped to his knees in front of Claire and Lily.
Claire was weeping, her hands shaking as she pulled Lily close. "Dominic... he was going to take her..."
Dominic reached out, his broad, calloused hands gently gathering both Claire and Lily into his massive arms. He pulled them tightly against his chest, holding them as if he would never let them go.
Lily wrapped her small arms around Dominic’s neck, burying her face against his charcoal scarf. "I knew you’d come, Mr. Dominic," she sobbed softly.
Dominic closed his eyes, resting his chin against his daughter's soft brown hair. "I will always come for you, Lily. Always."
This was the major emotional payoff of Season 1: the mid-term mystery of Lily's true parentage was fully revealed to Dominic and Claire, the traitor Julian Bellini was defeated and disarmed, and Dominic had reclaimed his daughter and the woman he had loved for seven years.
The syndicate guards flooded the river pier, securing Julian Bellini in heavy steel handcuffs and taking Vincent Cole into custody for his past treasons.
As Vincent was led away in chains, he stopped beside Dominic, looking down at little Lily resting in Dominic's arms.
"She has your eyes, Dominic," Vincent said quietly, a faint, defeated smile touching his lips. "She always had your eyes."
"Take him away," Dominic commanded quietly.

The immediate Season 1 conflict—the threat of Julian Bellini, the conspiracy of Vincent Cole, and the mystery of the missing Bellini docks—was completely resolved.
Dominic carried his daughter up the marble stairs into the warm, secure living room of his penthouse suite, with Claire walking safely by his side.
