Chapter 10 - The Crest Restored

Six months later, the spring sun warmed the city of Chicago as the grandest wedding of the year took place at St. James Cathedral.

The entire city celebrated the fairytale reunion of Ryan Whitmore and Grace Bennett. The story of the billionaire who found his lost triplets at a rainy bus stop had captivated the nation, becoming a symbol of hope, love, and poetic justice.

Inside the grand ballroom of the Whitmore estate that evening, hundreds of guests, friends, and family gathered under the crystal chandeliers to celebrate the new family.

Grace looked breathtaking in a custom lace bridal gown, her brown hair styled with white roses, while Ryan stood beside her in an immaculate black tuxedo, holding three-year-old Ethan in his arms while Emma and Ella stood between them in matching pink flower-girl dresses.

As the music played and guests danced, Ryan walked out onto the peaceful back balcony overlooking the moonlit waters of Lake Michigan, holding Grace's hand.

"Are you happy, Mrs. Whitmore?" Ryan asked softly, kissing her temple.

"I have everything I ever prayed for, Ryan," Grace smiled, resting her head on his shoulder.

Suddenly, Marcus stepped out onto the balcony, holding an unsealed black leather envelope bearing a heavy, antique wax seal stamped with an ancient European crest.

"Sorry to disturb the evening, Boss," Marcus said quietly, his expression unusually serious. "This was just delivered to the front gates by an untraceable diplomatic courier from London."

Ryan’s smile faded slightly. He accepted the heavy envelope, breaking the dark wax seal, and pulled out a single sheet of aged parchment paper.

Inside the envelope was an old, black-and-white photograph dated thirty years ago.

The photograph showed Ryan’s late grandfather standing beside a distinguished, aristocratic European gentleman in front of a massive stone castle in Scotland.

Attached to the photograph was a short, handwritten note written in silver ink:

Ryan Whitmore and Grace Whitmore,

You have reclaimed your children and exposed the board in Chicago.

But the plastic hospital bracelet your son wore carried more than just a family crest. It carried the master clearance code to the Whitmore European Trust in Geneva—a trust created by your grandfather sixty years ago.

Your triplets are the designated primary beneficiaries of the European estate.

The Sovereign Trust.

Ryan stared down at the photograph and the silver ink as an electric, dangerous resolve settled over his powerful frame. He looked up, meeting Grace's wide, questioning brown eyes.

There was no fear in Ryan’s gray-blue eyes—only the unyielding, fierce protection of a father and husband who would cross oceans to protect his family.

Ryan folded the parchment slowly, slipping it into his tuxedo pocket, and gently pulled Grace against his chest, looking out over the moonlit lake.

A slow, confident smile touched Ryan’s lips as he kissed his wife.

"Prep the private jet for London, Marcus," Ryan commanded in a low, lethal baritone. "Our family's journey has just begun."
