Chapter 10

Six months later, the bright spring sun washed over the Castalano estate, turning the manicured gardens into a sparkling sea of green, pink, and gold.

Inside the grand master study on the top floor, the atmosphere was filled with warm sunlight, soft music, and joyful laughter.

The room was pristine. Golden daylight streamed through the lofty floor-to-ceiling windows, highlighting the cream velvet furniture, polished white marble floor, and the glittering crystal chandelier above.

Sitting behind the massive mahogany desk in a boosted leather armchair was three-year-old Mia.

She wore a fresh pastel-blue princess dress with pink tulle, her golden-brown hair neatly gathered into her signature high bun held by vibrant pink-and-blue ribbon bows. She was holding a heavy gold fountain pen, working with intense seriousness as she "signed" official syndicate documents—which were actually pages inside a large floral coloring book.

Sitting on the cream velvet sofa nearby was Clara, looking radiant and peaceful in a lovely mint-green silk dress, reading a magazine while enjoying a cup of espresso.

Standing beside the mahogany desk, wearing his black luxury suit with his fitted black dress shirt unbuttoned at the neck, was Vincent Castalano. The black rose tattoos on his neck and muscular arms caught the bright sunlight, his sharp masculine jawline relaxed, his dark eyes glowing with deep, quiet happiness.

"Boss," Vincent spoke smoothly, holding up a leather file folder toward the tiny girl. "The harbor terminal reports require your final approval."

Mia paused her coloring, raised one golden-brown eyebrow in her signature, dramatic scowl, and looked up at the terrifying Mafia king with complete authority.

"Did Marco smile today?" Mia asked sternly, her sweet voice echoing off the marble walls.

"Yes, Boss," Vincent answered with deadpan seriousness. "Marco smiled for three whole hours."

"Good!" Mia declared brightly, taking her gold pen and placing a massive, colorful scribble across the paper. "Approved!"

Vincent let out a rich, booming laugh—a handsome, booming sound that filled every corner of the grand study. He reached down with his massive, tattooed hand, gently patting her golden-brown bun before scooping her effortlessly into his broad arms.

Mia giggled happily, wrapping her tiny arms around Vincent's neck, pressing her rosy cheek against his dark beard.

Clara stood up from the sofa, walking over with a radiant smile, leaning close against Vincent’s broad side as he wrapped his free arm securely around her waist, pulling both mother and daughter close against his chest.

Renzo Moretti stood near the double mahogany doors, holding a clipboard, a rare, genuine smile touching his face as he looked at the family.

The feared Mafia chief who had ruled New York's underworld with cold, unyielding iron had finally met his match—not in rival syndicates or armed armies, but in the fearless, three-year-old princess who had walked into his study, mocked his scowl, and stolen his heart forever.

Outside the soaring glass windows, the city of New York stretched out under a clear, endless blue sky. The dark shadows of fear, danger, and isolation were gone forever, replaced by an invincible empire of love, security, and an everlasting, joyful family that would guard their home under the golden sky forever.
