Chapter 7 - the siege of the estate

Victor sneered, raising his hand to order his mercenaries to fire. "Eliminate him!"
Before the mercenaries could raise their rifles, Vance and the Hale security team opened fire from the upper balconies with non-lethal, high-impact concussion rounds and tear gas canisters. Smoke instantly filled the foyer, disorienting the invaders.
Julian moved down the marble staircase like a lethal shadow. Moving with incredible speed and strength, he sidestepped a rifle barrel, grabbing the mercenary's wrist and disarming him in a single fluid movement. With two powerful, non-lethal strikes, Julian rendered the attacker unconscious on the floor.
Another mercenary lunged, but Julian grabbed his collar, hurling him over the balustrade onto the marble fountain below.
Within ninety seconds, all eight mercenaries were disarmed and neutralized on the floor, groaning in defeat. No blood was spilled, but the display of tactical dominance was absolute.
Victor backed toward the shattered front entrance, his eyes filled with sheer panic as his weapon trembled in his hand. He fired two wild shots toward the stairs, but Julian stepped calmly out of the smoke, unbothered, stepping directly into Victor's line of sight.
Julian reached out, his broad hand clamping around Victor's wrist with crushing force, forcing the silver sidearm out of his grip. It clattered uselessly onto the stone floor.
Julian grabbed Victor by his grey lapels, slamming him violently against the marble pillar.
"Why?" Julian demanded, his voice a dangerous, terrifying whisper. "Why did you try to destroy my family?"
Victor choked, gasping for air, his face turning red under Julian's iron grip. "Because... because your father left fifty percent of the overseas syndicate holdings to your child!" Victor spat out. "If you had an heir, I would never get control of the European shipping ports! I needed the baby gone!"
Julian’s dark eyes flashed with cold disgust. "You sold your soul for shipping ports."
Julian hurled Victor onto the floor at Vance's feet. "Zip-tie him. Lock him in the subterranean holding cells until the federal authorities arrive."

"With pleasure, boss," Vance said, dragging the screaming traitor down the service corridor.
Julian turned and walked back up the grand staircase, his breathing steady, his focus returning entirely to the top floor where his daughter and Grace were waiting.
