Chapter 6

The crowd gathered around the courtyard erupted into loud, heartfelt applause. Generals and officers, moved to their core by the colonel's display of humility, clapped enthusiastically, their initial skepticism replaced by profound admiration for the homeless boy.

Claire walked over, kneeling beside her husband. She wrapped her arms around Noah, pulling the fragile, dusty child into a warm, loving embrace against her cream formal dress, completely unconcerned by the dirt on his torn clothes.

"Thank you, sweet boy," Claire wept softly, kissing Noah's forehead. "You are our miracle. You are home now."

Leo and Lila ran over, wrapping their small arms around Noah's waist, laughing happily as they pulled their new brother into their family circle.

"You're our brother now!" Leo declared proudly, his bright blue eyes shining as he bounced on his sturdy, healed feet. "We're going to play tag in the garden every day!"

Noah looked around at the warm, loving faces surrounding him. For years, he had wandered cold, lonely streets, rejected by society, carrying a extraordinary gift he barely understood. For the first time in his young life, he felt the divine warmth of a real family wrapping around his cold shoulders.

Richard stood up, lifting Noah effortlessly into his broad, muscular arms, cradling the thin boy against the crisp wool and gold ribbons of his military uniform. He turned to face the crowd of military commanders and wealthy donors.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Richard's deep baritone voice boomed across the estate, carrying a fierce, absolute resolve. "The gala is concluded! Today, we do not celebrate military power or financial status. We celebrate faith, healing, and family!"

A three-star general stepped forward, wiping a tear from his eye, and raised his glass. "To Colonel Vale... and to young Noah! God bless this family!"

The guests cheered in agreement, raising their glasses beneath the golden sunlight.

Richard carried Noah through the grand double doors of the mansion, flanked by Claire, Leo, and Lila. They walked beneath the glittering crystal chandeliers, leaving behind the dark shadows of grief and disability forever.

Inside the mansion's private residential wing, Richard instructed his staff to prepare the grand guest suite for Noah. He personally helped the boy bathe, removing the months of street dust, and dressed him in soft, clean clothes.

As Noah sat on the edge of a feather bed, wrapped in a warm wool blanket, Richard sat beside him, looking into his clear brown eyes.

"Where did you come from, Noah?" Richard asked gently. "Where did you learn to do that?"

Noah looked out the window at the setting sun, his voice soft and serene. "I don't know, Father. I just felt their pain... and I asked the light to take it away."

Richard closed his eyes, a profound sense of peace washing over his heart as he heard the boy call him 'Father' for the very first time.
