Chapter 8

Dr. Harrison and his team of military medical examiners spent four hours conducting rigorous physical tests on Leo and Lila inside the estate's private medical suite.

They performed reflex tests, nerve conduction studies, and advanced portable ultrasound scans. The results were undeniable and staggering: the severe nerve damage that had paralyzed the twins for two years was entirely gone. Their spinal columns showed perfect health, their muscular tissue was fully restored, and their reflexes were superior to those of average healthy seven-year-old children.

When Dr. Harrison examined Noah, attempting to measure brain activity or bio-electric fields, the results showed nothing abnormal—only the calm, steady heart rate of a healthy, peaceful child.

Sitting in the executive study, Dr. Harrison closed his report, looking at Colonel Richard Vale with deep reverence and confusion.

"Colonel," Harrison said, his voice shaking slightly. "From a medical standpoint, I have no explanation. There is no drug, no surgery, and no scientific process on Earth that could achieve this. What happened at that gala was a true miracle."

"I know, Doctor," Richard replied calmly, leaning back in his leather chair, his dark suit tailored and sharp. "And I expect your official report to state that my children have been fully restored to health, without subjecting Noah to public circuses or laboratory studies."

Harrison nodded firmly. "You have my word, Colonel. The medical board will record this as a divine recovery. The boy will remain protected under your guardianship."

That evening, as a warm rain tapped gently against the tall glass windows of the study, Richard sat beside the fireplace, holding Noah on his lap. Claire sat nearby, sipping hot tea, while Leo and Lila lay on the thick rug, drawing pictures with colorful crayons.

Richard smoothed down Noah's neatly combed brown hair, looking at his calm, handsome face.

"Noah," Richard spoke softly. "Tomorrow morning, we go to the county courthouse. The adoption papers are prepared. From tomorrow, you will legally be Noah Vale—my son, equal in every way to Leo and Lila."

Noah looked up into Richard's piercing blue eyes, a sweet, radiant smile illuminating his face. "Thank you, Father. I don't need a legal paper to know you are my dad... but I want to share your name."

Claire wiped a tear from her eye, leaning over to kiss Noah's cheek, while Leo and Lila cheered from the floor.

"Yay! Noah Vale!" Lila giggled, running over to jump onto the sofa beside them. "Now no one can ever take you away from us!"

Richard pulled all three of his children close against his broad chest, his heart swelling with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and peace. The arrogant colonel who had once relied entirely on military rank and cynical pride had found true strength in love, humility, and family.
