Chapter 9 - the mother's echo

By the following evening, Dominic and Claire had returned to the Serrano estate, carrying the master ledger and the completed double crest key.
The estate had been fully secured by Dominic’s elite security forces, with guards posted along every perimeter wall and garden gate.
Inside the grand library, Eleanor sat by the fire, reading through the master ledger with deep emotion in her eyes.
"This ledger clears my family's name completely," Eleanor said, tears glistening in her eyes. "It proves that every debt attributed to us was fabricated by Vivienne's faction."
Claire sat beside her mother, hugging her gently. "It's finally over, Mom. We're safe now."
Dominic stood by the large bay window, looking out at the peaceful, star-lit gardens. Marcus stepped into the room, holding a sealed black leather case.
"Boss," Marcus reported smoothly. "Vivienne and her legal team have officially signed the full surrender agreements. They have forfeited all remaining claims and have been permanently banished from the syndicate council."
Dominic nodded in quiet satisfaction. "Good. Make sure her security access codes are permanently revoked across all regional databases."
Dominic walked over to the fireplace, standing beside Claire and Eleanor.
"Tomorrow," Dominic announced, his deep voice rich with quiet authority, "we open the final vault chamber beneath the south wing."

Claire looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "The sixteenth chamber?"
"The chamber your father sealed before his passing," Dominic explained, holding up the double crest key. "The chamber that holds the future of our family dynasty."
