Chapter 7 - the tribunal of chicago

By 8:00 AM, a crisp golden sunrise broke over Lake Michigan, casting warm light across the city skyline.

The grand ballroom of the Grand Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago was filled with twenty senior Mafia captains and elder branch bosses from across the Midwest—the supreme ruling council of the syndicate.

Sitting at the head table in a pinstriped suit was Marcus Vance, holding a gold fountain pen, addressing the gathered bosses. "Don Dominic Moretti is unfit to hold the port leases! His household is in chaos, his child is sick, and his security is failing!"

The heavy double doors of the ballroom were kicked open with shattering force!

Dominic Moretti stepped into the hall. He wore his dark suit, his broad frame towering over the doorway, his dark eyes burning with terrifying authority.

Walking beside him was Clara Vance, dressed in an elegant velvet dress, holding Baby Leo securely in her arms. Flanking them were Dante Russo and eight heavily armed Moretti enforcers.

The entire ballroom fell into dead silence.

"You're late for your own funeral, Vance," Dominic's deep voice echoed through the high hall like thunder.

Vance's face went sheet-white. "Moretti?! How did you—"

Clara stepped forward, holding up the certified chemical lab report alongside the original medical files from St. Jude's Hospital in Boston.

"Marcus Vance systematically poisoned Baby Leo Moretti using Cardinex-B," Clara declared, her clear, brave voice commanding the respect of every elder in the room. "And two years ago, his illegal pharmaceutical lab killed my infant son in Boston using the exact same formula."

Gasps of absolute shock erupted from the gathered captains!

Don Carmine, the eighty-five-year-old senior patriarch of the council, struck his heavy wooden gavel against the table. "Targeting a newborn child violates the sacred bloodline law of this council. Marcus Vance is stripped of his territory forever!"
