Chapter 13 - SCARLETT WAS NOT THE CONSPIRATOR

The Ferraro gossip machine tried to make Scarlett into part of Marcella’s plan.
I stopped that hard.
Not through threats.
Through facts.
She had warned Hannah.
She had refused Elodie’s part.
She had not touched the shoe.
She had been pressured by her mother for years.
That mattered.
Graham obtained a temporary modification to parenting arrangements while Marcella began counseling. No dramatic removal of maternal rights. Scarlett continued seeing her mother under structured conditions because no evidence suggested Marcella had physically harmed Scarlett.
The main issue was emotional pressure.
Marcella had told her:
“You owe our branch one beautiful night.”
A nine-year-old does not owe a branch anything.
Then Scarlett began therapy.
Her biggest fear was that wanting to dance meant agreeing with her mother.
The therapist helped separate them.
Ballet belonged to Scarlett if Scarlett wanted it.
Prima Figlia did not.
Months later she returned to class.
No special role.
No punishment.

Elodie saw her and waved.
That was enough.
