Marcella eventually stopped attending Scarlett’s rehearsals.
At first because Graham and the therapist requested space.
Later because Scarlett asked.
That nearly broke her.
She had built motherhood around witnessing achievement.
Without backstage access, she had to learn a different relationship.
Lunch.
Homework.
Movies.
Driving.
Listening.
Scarlett once told her:
“I like when you don’t talk about dance.”
Marcella cried afterward.
