Chapter 22 - The Trust Education Meeting

At ten? Not yet three-year epilogue? Elsa 9-10. The trust had planned financial education at age ten in basic form.
Independent trustee invited Elsa for a simple session.
Not balance-sheet dump.
They showed her three jars.
Spend.
Save.
Future.
She laughed.
“I’m not baby.”
The trustee said:
“Your father needs jars too.”
I objected.
No one cared.
They explained:
Some money came from Cecilia.
Some investments grow.
Some pay expenses.
Adults manage now.
Elsa asked:
“Can Aunt Marcelline take it?”
“No.”
“Can Dad?”
“No.”
I looked offended.
Elsa smiled.
“Good.”
Then:
“Can I?”
“Some. More when older.”
“Why?”
“Because it is meant to last.”
She nodded.
“What if I don’t want Frost company?”
Excellent.
“When you’re older, you’ll have advisers and legal rights to make decisions within trust terms.”
No dynasty obligation.
No child groomed to inherit a throne.
The money existed.
Elsa existed separately.

That was the distinction Marcelline had lost.
