Chapter 10 - The Sovereign Inheritance

The morning rain in London was heavy and gray, casting a sleek sheen over the historic stone buildings of the financial district.
A fleet of three black luxury SUVs pulled up outside the grand marble entrance of the Sovereign Trust Building on Threadneedle Street.
Vincent Caruso stepped out of the lead vehicle, holding a large black umbrella. He looked imposing, powerful, and majestic in his black three-piece suit and his signature black wide-brimmed hat.
He opened the rear door, extending his arm to help Rachel step out onto the rain-swept sidewalk. She wore an exquisite dark navy wool coat with a white silk scarf, looking every bit the aristocratic heiress she was born to be.
Behind them, Marco held four-year-old Emma in his arms under a large umbrella. Emma wore a cute little pink rain coat and matching boots, holding her stuffed rabbit tightly against her chest.
They walked through the massive bronze doors into the grand marble atrium of the Sovereign Trust Building.
Standing near the central fountain was Sir Arthur Sterling—a tall, seventy-year-old British nobleman in an immaculate gray suit, flanked by four broad-shouldered security guards.
"Welcome to London, Don Caruso," Sir Arthur said smoothly, his refined British accent echoing through the high hall. "It has been forty years since a Caruso walked through these doors."
Vincent stopped five feet away, his towering frame radiating a cold, lethal authority that made Sterling's guards noticeably tense.
"Cut the pleasantries, Sterling," Vincent commanded in his deep baritone. "We are here for my grandniece's trust."
Sir Arthur looked at four-year-old Emma, a rare, intrigued smile touching his lips. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out an ancient brass key tied with a faded blue ribbon—an exact matching key to the secondary lock inside the green leather journal.
"Your father created this trust to protect the family's future, Vincent," Sir Arthur revealed softly. "And your grandniece Emma holds the final key to unlocking a legacy that spans across continents."
Little Emma looked at the ancient brass key, then up into Vincent’s piercing blue eyes, her small hand reaching out to hold her granduncle's fingers.

Vincent looked down at her, a fierce, protective warmth filling his heart as he squeezed her tiny hand in his own.
"We are ready, Sterling," Vincent declared, his voice echoing through the grand hall with absolute, unshakeable power. "Show us our legacy."
