Chapter 8 - The Shadow from London

Vincent unfolded the parchment under the afternoon sun. Written across the center in dark, elegant silver calligraphy was a short, cryptic message:
Vincent Caruso and Rachel Dawson Caruso,
You have brought Richard Vale to justice and restored your family’s bloodline in New York.
But the silver rose locket your grandniece carried belonged to a secondary trust created by Don Vito Caruso forty years ago in London.
Your grandniece Emma is the designated primary beneficiary of the European Sovereign Estate.
The Sovereign Trust.
Vincent stared down at the silver ink as an electric, dangerous resolve settled over his broad frame.
Rachel looked at him, noticing the sudden tension in his jaw. "Uncle Vincent? What is it?"
Vincent slowly folded the parchment paper, slipping it into his black suit coat pocket. He turned to Rachel and little Emma, offering a warm, confident smile that hid the storm gathering on the horizon.
"It’s nothing, Rachel," Vincent said softly, kissing her cheek. "Just an old family matter we will handle together."

He looked over at Marco, who nodded in silent understanding.
"Prep the private jet for London, Marco," Vincent commanded in a low, lethal baritone. "Our family's story is just getting started."
