Chapter 11 - I Left Wesley for Six Weeks

Not divorce.

Separation.

I stayed first with Claire.

Then rented furnished apartment near our house.

Why not remain in marital home?

Wesley offered to leave.

I chose neutral space initially because our house felt saturated with arguments and visitors.

June needed quiet.

Wesley saw her daily.

At first supervised by me? Not because unsafe father.

Because she was five weeks old and feeding frequently.

He came.

Held her.

Changed diapers.

Rocked her.

We barely spoke.

No weaponizing baby.

No canceling access because angry.

That was important.

Wesley asked:

“What do I need to do?”

Wrong question at first.

Sounds like checklist to get wife back.

I said:

“Figure out why you let your mother put me in position where I had to protect June from a joke you already knew could happen.”

Then:

“Don’t do it for me.”

He went to therapy.

Individual.

Not couples immediately.

He told Margaret:

No visits with June.

No party invitations.

No direct contact with me.

No discussing our separation with relatives.

She violated last one within twelve hours.

Wesley left family group chat.

That shocked everyone more than police report.

Small digital boundary.

Huge family symbol.
