Chapter 13 - Chloe is not my witness

The press wanted Chloe.
Television.
Documentary producers.
Music channels.
A morning show offered to fly us to Los Angeles.
No.
Leah said:
“Keep her out.”
Agreed.
Chloe was disappointed.
“I started it.”
“You are nine.”
“So?”
“So adults finish adult legal problems.”
“But Dad is my dad.”
“Yes.”
“Then I should say.”
“You can talk to your therapist, me, the court if needed, and your lawyer if you ever need one. You are not going on television.”
She crossed her arms.
“Victor goes on television.”
“Victor is fifty-three.”
“That doesn’t make him smart.”
True.
Still no.
We removed her performance videos where possible.
One guest had secretly recorded part.
It spread.
Impossible to erase fully.
But we did not cooperate with monetization.
Chloe did not become a brand.
Daniel’s authorship dispute was not her career.

That boundary mattered.
