Chapter 14 - “Your Empire Ends Tonight” Was Too Dramatic

Months later I hated that line.
Not because false.
Because part of me enjoyed his fear.
Therapy made me examine it.
What did I want when I said:
“Your empire ends tonight”?
Not safety.
I had already signed revocations.
Not information.
I knew.
I wanted Ryan to feel powerless.
The same thing Linda had done to Ethan.
She took his room to show:
I decide.
Ryan used my signature to show:
I decide.
I opened a safe and used knowledge to say:
Now I decide.
Not equivalent.
But same emotional temptation.
Control feels clean after betrayal.
It is not always healthy.
So I stopped making legal process into revenge theater.
No leaking documents.
No calling Ryan’s clients.
No social media posts.
No telling Ethan:
Dad stole Mommy’s house.
He didn’t.
He tried to put my asset at risk without consent.
Different.
May you like
Words matter.
