Chapter 22 - The divorce accounting

Our divorce settled after the criminal verdict.
House:
Mine.
No dispute left.
Delphine received:
Her separate assets.
Her share of joint investment account.
One vehicle.
Certain art and furnishings purchased jointly.
Maison Vale remained hers.
My claim for renovation overbilling:
Resolved with a $118,000 offset against her marital-property equalization after accountants compromised disputed service values.
Her unreimbursed legitimate contributions under Schedule C:
$214,000.
I paid them.
Yes.
Even after everything.
Because she had actually paid that amount toward approved improvements.
The agreement said reimbursable.
I honored it.
Then the net.
After offsets:
I owed Delphine a smaller equalization amount.
Paid.
No years-long ruin.
May you like
No revenge.
Just separation.
