Chapter 17 - Lucille’s own financial exposure

Lucille’s fear was partly justified.

Not morally.

Factually.

Federal investigators reviewed transactions she approved after Sebastian’s death.

Most:

Legitimate estate administration.

Some:

Questionable.

One consulting contract paid $240,000 to a company later linked to Voss.

Lucille said Sebastian had approved it before death.

Documents supported part of that.

Another $110,000 payment moved after Sebastian’s death.

Purpose:

“Security transition.”

Lucille authorized it.

Prosecutors examined whether she knew funds would support witness pressure.

Evidence was mixed.

They did not charge every suspicious payment.

They focused on provable communications after she knew Alessandra was alive.

Again:

Suspicion is not conviction.
