Chapter 17 - My mother does not disinherit Marietta

Everyone expected Eleanor to rewrite her will.
Maybe she did.
Maybe not.
She refused to discuss it.
When relatives asked:
“Are you cutting Marietta off?”
Eleanor answered:
“My estate plan is not a disciplinary newsletter.”
Perfect.
Marietta hated that more than a threat.
Because she could no longer use future inheritance as public leverage.
Then Eleanor did something more concrete.
She ended Marietta’s family-event consulting contract permanently.
Reason:
Loss of confidence.
Control failures.
Misrepresentation.
Marietta retained:
Any shares she already owned.
Her own savings.
No one took existing property.
No instant financial ruin.
She found other event-planning clients within months.
Fewer.

But enough.
Consequences without fantasy.
