Chapter 7 - Delphine’s connection to Graves Hospitality

Delphine was not merely an old family friend.

She owned Cross Meridian Consulting, a boutique firm that handled:

Hotel licensing.

Liquor permits.

Municipal approvals.

Luxury-event compliance.

Vendor credentialing.

Her late father had helped my father build properties.

For years, Cross Meridian was treated almost like an internal department.

Vivienne hated that.

She once told me:

“Your family keeps calling outside vendors family so nobody asks whether they’re accountable.”

At the time, I said:

“They’ve worked with us for twenty years.”

She answered:

“That is not an internal control.”

She was right.

I did not act fast enough.
