Chapter 11 - The doctor Vanessa preferred

Vanessa repeatedly encouraged me to see Dr. Malcolm Reeves.

Private neurologist.

Excellent reputation.

No evidence he knew about the tampering.

His notes actually helped me.

He wrote:

Symptoms fluctuate atypically. Medication review strongly recommended.

Then:

Patient reports no new medications.

He ordered additional testing.

Vanessa delayed one follow-up appointment.

She told me:

“They found nothing urgent.”

The actual clinic message said:

Please schedule promptly to discuss unexplained symptom pattern.

Vanessa never forwarded it.

Dr. Reeves was furious when investigators contacted him.

Not because his diagnosis had been exposed as fraudulent.

Because someone had used his uncertainty as camouflage.
