Chapter 13 - Lily had seen Vanessa at dinner

Getting testimony from a four-year-old deaf child required care.
No leading questions.
No adult telling her what happened.
A trained forensic interviewer who knew ASL worked with a certified interpreter.
Lily described:
Vanessa entering the dining room before I sat down.
Looking toward the door.
Handling my place setting.
Putting something into a small container near my food.
Then hiding the item in her purse.
Lily did not call it a pill.
Powder.
Drug.
Anything technical.
She used:
medicine
and
Daddy food.
That limited account was stronger than an adult interpretation.

She did not claim things she could not know.
She simply described what she saw.
