Chapter 8 - Nora had seen the pattern too

Nora supervised food service at home.
Not cooking every meal.
Managing schedules.
Staff.
Events.
Three weeks before the gala, she noticed Vanessa repeatedly entering the kitchen after my dinner had already been plated.
Once:
“Just adding supplements.”
Another time:
“Graham forgot his medication.”
Nora knew I took no scheduled evening medication.
She asked my assistant.
My assistant confirmed:
Nothing prescribed for dinner.
Nora considered telling me.
Then stopped herself.
Why?
Because Vanessa was my fiancée.
Nora was staff.
Power makes uncertainty dangerous.
She feared sounding:
Jealous.
Intrusive.
Disloyal.
So she started documenting times.
Not secretly filming Vanessa.
Simply writing:
Date.
Meal.
Who entered kitchen.
When symptoms appeared.
By the gala, Nora had nine entries.
On seven of those nights, I experienced major hearing symptoms within hours.

Not proof.
A pattern.
