Chapter 9 - the score of a lifetime

The heavy steel door of the panic room locked from the inside as Adrien turned and walked into the dark hallway.

He moved through the mansion like a god of war. Joined by Marcus and six elite Moretti enforcers, Adrien cleared the east wing with swift, terrifying precision, cutting down the Valenti infiltrators before they could reach the upper staircase.

Down in the grand foyer, Marcus Valenti’s lead commander was pinned against the marble wall by Adrien’s crushing grip.

“Who sent you?” Adrien growled, his silver revolver pressed directly against the commander’s forehead.

“Valenti... Valenti paid us...” the commander choked out in terror. “He’s fleeing to the airport right now!”

“He won't make it to the runway,” Adrien said coldly.

Ten minutes later, federal tactical units and Chicago police cruisers—alerted by Adrien’s legal team—intercepted Marcus Valenti’s vehicle at O’Hare airport, arresting the rival boss and his entire inner circle on federal racketeering and attempted murder charges.

By 2:00 AM, the estate was secure once more.

Adrien walked back into the master suite, unlocking the hidden panic room door.

Claire stepped out into the light, her soft brown hair loose over her shoulders. The moment she saw Adrien standing there unharmed, tears of relief spilled down her fair cheeks. She threw her arms around his broad neck, kissing him deeply—a passionate, sweet kiss that sealed five years of fear into a promise of forever.

The triplets spilled out of the panic room, cheering happily.

Sophie opened her pink notebook, clicking her pen with immense satisfaction. “Final score for Daddy: 1000/10. Officially the best dad in Chicago.”

Adrien laughed, picking up his three daughters and pulling Claire tightly into his broad embrace, his heart filled with a peace he had never known in his entire life.
