Chapter 10

Marcella was not trying to reveal a romantic secret.
That was the major twist.
Lulu’s mother had not chosen another man instead of Dominic.
Natalia had chosen a legal safety plan instead of private family control.
The first clue was Marcella saying:
“Hit me again.”
She needed Dominic violent on camera.
The second was her obsession with birthday pictures.
She needed images for donors, court, and public sympathy.
The third was the emergency guardianship petition drafted before the party.
The fourth was the forged page naming Marcella as guardian.
The fifth was Natalia’s real sentence:
Dominic loves our daughter. Love is not the question. Safety is.
Marcella’s plan was to make Natalia’s fear look prophetic, then insert herself as the solution.
Step one:
Humiliate Lulu and provoke tears.
Step two:
Strike the child hard enough to create visible distress, then control which footage left the room.
Step three:
Bait Dominic into assaulting her.
Step four:
Use the forged guardian page and the prewritten petition to say Natalia had chosen Marcella to protect Lulu if Dominic’s violent household endangered her.
Step five:
Gain temporary control of Lulu’s public image, care budget, and trust-related reimbursements before the real packet surfaced.
She did not expect Dominic to call police.
She did not expect full surveillance footage to be preserved.
She did not expect Grace to appear with court authority.
Most of all, she did not expect Dominic to admit his own slap.
Marcella’s threat worked only if Dominic behaved like the man Natalia feared.
Secretive.
Violent.
Too proud to let outsiders judge his house.
For one second, when he struck Marcella, he was exactly that man.
Then he stopped.
That ruined her.
The truth Natalia left was painful, but it did not say Lulu was unwanted.
May you like
It said Lulu was worth protecting even from people who loved her badly.
That was the difference Marcella tried to hide.
