Chapter 25 - Sophie visits Elena without visiting Elena
Near the end of Elena’s custodial term, Sophie asked:
“Can I see Aunt Elena?”
I did not answer alone.

Letters from Elena.

Through counsel she wrote one appropriate statement:
I stole money that belonged to Sophie and I frightened her at the cabin. I am not asking her to forgive me.

Sophie did not want a prison visit.
