Chapter 14 - The Pediatric Appointment

Rachel had once taken Olivia to her regular pediatrician after a weekend with Michael.
Symptoms:
fatigue.
stomach discomfort.
unusual sleepiness.
Michael told Rachel by text:
She was anxious about transition.
Rachel believed him reluctantly.
The pediatrician asked whether Olivia took any medications.
Rachel said:
“No.”
Because she did not know.
Medical testing found nothing alarming.
Symptoms resolved.
The doctor documented:
Possible stress-related gastrointestinal symptoms.
That note later appeared in Michael’s custody filings.
Proof, he argued, that transitions to Rachel’s home caused Olivia physical distress.
Except the symptoms had begun before the transition.
