Chapter 21 - The Medical Board

The state medical board conducted its own proceeding.
Different question.
Criminal court asked what statutes Michael violated.
The board asked whether his conduct met professional standards.
Treating his own child repeatedly without appropriate independent care.
Failing to coordinate.
Inadequate documentation.
Using medication in circumstances potentially entangled with a custody dispute.
Those issues mattered even apart from criminal intent.
Michael’s license was suspended during investigation.
Later disciplinary consequences were substantial.
He lost the professional authority he had repeatedly used as proof that everyone should trust his medical judgment.
