Chapter 20 - The hotel operator pays too

The hotel operating company was not criminally charged.
It did face consequences.
Independent review found:
Weak oversight.
Bad incentive design.
Failure to audit Sofia relocation billing.
Dismissal of a staff complaint without adequate review.
The operator reimbursed the foundation $240,000 under a negotiated civil resolution covering overbilling, investigation costs, and family reimbursements beyond Dominic’s personal restitution.
Paul Wexler resigned as general manager.
No accusation he stole.
He had failed to supervise.
A new GM came from outside the luxury-hotel circuit.
Her name was Denise Harper.
She had previously managed a large airport hotel.
Dominic would have called that less prestigious.
Denise understood something he had forgotten.
Hotels exist for guests.

Not their own reflection.
